Eva Wilde is a researcher in the fields of music education and music psychology, an educator, and a professional musician, She completed her PhD at the UCL Institute of Education, University College London, UK, and holds an Instrumental Music Education Diploma, as well as a Master of Music in Music Performance from the Conservatoire Robert Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf, Germany. Her doctoral studies focused on instrumental music and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD); addressing the effectiveness of teaching, successful learning in and through music and personal development. Eva participated in several research projects embracing assessments and evaluations of various music education programmes. Programmes included the renowned Wigmore Hall education programme, the ‘Music in Secondary Schools Trust (MiSST) @ Islington ALW’ programme, the ‘Provision of Music in Special Education (PROMISE)’ project – a national survey of music in special schools in England, the research project ‘Sounding Out’– a music programme designed for Hearing Impaired children (HI) by the charity Creative Futures and the UCL Ear Institute and UCL Institute of Education, and the ‘In Harmony Project’ – a project by UCL and Opera North. Eva has presented at national and international music education conferences and published in academic journals. She is a recipient of the Steve Dillon Award for early career researchers, which was presented to her by the International Society for Music Education (ISME) Committee. As a professional violinist, Eva has performed nationally and internationally. In addition, she has worked as an instrumental teacher (violin, viola and piano) in various settings for around twenty years. In this framework, she has taught various target groups, i.e., neuro-typical individuals and those with special educational needs and disabilities, students with various cultural and socio-economic backgrounds, as well as older people. Furthermore, she has worked as an artistic supervisor and teacher for various youth orchestras and a non-profit organization for family and adult further education.
