Shike Guo

Shike Guo is a dedicated scholar and practitioner with a diverse educational background and a profound passion for music and psychology. She completed her undergraduate studies at Henan Normal University in China, majoring in Musicology and minoring in Music Therapy. Following her undergraduate studies, Shike pursued a Graduate Diploma in Psychology at the University of Melbourne in Australia. Subsequently, she continued her academic journey by earning a Master's in Psychological Studies at the University of Glasgow in the United Kingdom. Her commitment to academic excellence led her to begin her doctoral studies at University College London in 2023. During the years 2018 to 2019, Shike served as a Music Therapist at Xinxiang Longzixin Mental Retarded Child Care School and Zhengzhou Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital. Here, She actively engaged with various patient groups, including those with intellectual disabilities, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), Tourette syndrome, autism, depression, and postoperative aphasia. In these roles, she provided crucial behavioral interventions and support to enhance the well-being of patients. Beyond her academic and professional endeavors, Shike actively participated in extracurricular activities related to her field. Include her involvement in the 2017 Music Therapist Mid-term Report Concert and the 13th Academic Exchange Conference of the Chinese Society of Music Therapy. One of Shike's significant academic achievements includes her research paper titled "Study on the Application of Music Therapy in Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)," which was featured in the conference proceedings of the 2nd International Summit Forum on Expressive Art Therapy. This research exemplifies her dedication to improving the lives of individuals with ADHD through innovative therapeutic approaches, bridging the gap between music, medicine, and psychology. Furthermore, Shike holds a Psychological Consultant Certificate (Level 3) and is qualified as a high school music teacher in China.
