profile photo of Eunice S. Y. TangEunice is an academic-musician dedicated to advancing inclusion within higher music education (HME). Her research at UCL has shed light on the underrepresentation of autistic musicians and advocating for their voices within HME. She is an Honorary Senior Research Fellow at UCL, where she coordinates the International Music Education Research Centre (iMerc), fostering community and knowledge exchange alongside Professor Graham Welch and Professor Evangelos Himonides.

A Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, Eunice is a Lecturer in Music Education at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, where she teaches and supervises projects at Master’s level (MA, MEd). She serves as module leader for Music’s Pedagogies, as well as Research in Music Education and Participation, the two core components of the MA Music Education programme. She is also a Visiting Lecturer in the Music Department at the University of Nottingham. In addition, she works as a Specialist one-to-one Study Skills and Strategy Support for autistic university students and those with ADHD.

As a pianist and keyboardist, Eunice has performed on television, radio, and at festivals in cities including Hong Kong, Kaohsiung, London, Taipei, and Vladivostok. She teaches piano and keyboard in secondary schools, special schools, and youth centres through a Local Education Authority music service in London. She has over a decade of experience working with organisations including IMSLP, ABRSM, and Trinity Rock & Pop. As part of her broader academic and professional practice, Eunice also serves as a Generalist Examiner for Trinity Laban, examining BMus and MMus students across the music department.
