A little bit more about our research…
This research is intended to extend our understanding of issues relating to gender and music education. It updates a study from the 1990s which explored how music teachers perceive the musical participation of different genders. We wish to investigate some of the ways that educators at different educational levels use to describe the participation of different genders in musical performing, listening, composing, and technology use. We are doing this through an anonymous online questionnaire.
We are letting as many adult music teachers around the world know about our survey and inviting them to take part if they wish. You probably discovered our survey via an Internet search engine or had the link shared with you by a colleague. The survey is open to all adult teachers of music. By 'adult' we mean people who are the age of majority in their particular country or older.
