Dr Ioulia Papageorgi has been Lecturer in Psychology and Human Development and a Coordinating Research Officer in the Faculty of Children and Learning at the Institute of Education, University of London, untill 2011. She is also an Associate Lecturer at the Open University. She has degrees in both Music and Psychology from the University of Leeds and the Open University, respectively. She has a Master's degree in Music Education and a Doctorate in Psychology in Education from the Institute of Education, University of London. She has worked in research teams for various funded research projects, most recently as a Coordinating Research Officer in the "Investigating Musical Performance: Comparative Studies in Advanced Musical Learning" (2006-2008; funded by ESRC TLRP), the "Evaluation of the National Singing Programme" (2007-2011; funded by SingUp) and the "Evaluation of the Chorister Outreach Programme" (2008-2011; funded by CSA). She has widely presented her work at international conferences and seminars. She has published papers in international peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings, and has authored a number of invited book chapters. Ioulia is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and has given invited lectures at various universities and academies.
